Local attractions include Audley End Manor House which is just a few minutes away.  The beautiful villages of Thaxted and Finchingfield, often considered one of the prettiest villages in England, are both a short drive. The historic market town of Saffron Walden is just 3 miles away. The surrounding rolling countryside is very popular with walkers and ramblers - Newport is the centre point of the long-distance path known as "The Harcamlow Way"and consequently, it has a large number of walks radiating from its centre.  The quieter roads attract many a cyclist, especially on the weekends, the London to Cambridge route being particularly popular.
